Leslie Anne Hendra
My first job as an English teacher was in Tokyo, Japan - and it turned into a fifteen-year job! Then I moved to the UK, got my teaching diploma (DELTA) at International House London and joined the staff as a full-time teacher. I later become a CELTA trainer as well. After four years at IH London, I began working full-time as co-author of English Unlimited, which has been a challenging and fascinating project. I'm particularly interested in intercultural awareness, speaking strategies and task-based learning. I have an MA in Classics, and live in London and Scotland.

I've worked as a teacher and teacher trainer in Finland, Yugoslavia, Lebanon, Egypt, Germany and the UK, and I've written a number of other books for Cambridge University Press, including the coursebooks Meanings into Words and Language in Use. I'm now living in Munich, Germany, where I work as a freelance writer, teacher and teacher trainer. I'm very interested in the way English is developing as a language for international communication, and what this means for coursebooks of the future.
