Check In focuses on everyday situations so that hotel workers can understand and respond to the needs and requests of the guests of their hotel. Particular emphasis is placed on realistic and integrated communicative tasks that give students the opportunity to build confidence and improve fluency.
Table for Two is specially designed for Brazilian restaurant workers at the beginning level who need English for their work. Table for Two focuses on everyday situations so that restaurant workers can understand and respond to the needs and requests of the customers in restaurants. Particular emphasis is placed on realistic and integrated communicative tasks that give students the opportunity to build confidence and improve fluency.
The four parts of Around Town, Check In and Table for Two are correlated to Interchange Third Edition Intro on a one-to-one basis, but may also be used with Interchange Level 1.
In each unit, students learn new vocabulary – words and expressions –needed for their job, and systematically practice speaking and listening with regular consolidation of the language acquired in Interchange Third Edition Intro.
Around Town, Check In and Table for Two are written in American English, but reflect the fact that English is the major language of international communication. The philosophy of Around Town, Check In and Table for Two is that English is best learned when used for meaningful communication.
